National Honor Society
• to create an enthusiasm for scholarship,
• to stimulate a desire to volunteer in school and in the community,
• to promote worthy leadership and
• to encourage the development of good character in high school students.
Juniors and Seniors who have a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher are potential candidates.
How can I prepare for NHS candidacy?
• Volunteer in school and in the community;
• Take a leadership role in clubs, sports and other activities;
• Be a positive leader in the classroom;
• Display academic initiative;
• Respect self, staff, and peers;
• Follow school and community rules;
• Lead an alcohol-free, drug-free lifestyle.
Selection into NHS is a privilege and not a right. Students must provide evidence they exemplify all four of the criteria.
Members are inducted into NHS with a formal ceremony in the Spring.
