The Student Council is the student government at PHS. The organization has three primary functions:
1) to organize school activities and events, including dances and winter carnival.
2) to assist with community service projects, including the food drive, blood drive, and other charity donations.
3) to represent the students' opinions on school policy decisions by regularly meeting with the administration.
Every fall, each class elects representatives to the council. All members help with council activities and keep their classmates involved with council actions and discussions, as outlined in the council constitution. The class officers are also part of the executive committee, which meets with the administration to discuss school policies directly affecting students. In the course of the year, student council members learn leadership skills, citizenship, and initiative.
